ABOUT
About our founder:
Statsroom was founded with a simple aim: to make objective performance data more accessible within aquatic sport.
In competitive swimming, performances are often judged by final times, rankings and personal bests. While these outcomes are important, they rarely tell the full story of how a performance was produced. Objective performance data provides the opportunity to look beyond results alone and build a deeper understanding of how athletes perform over time. This supports a more informed approach to athlete development and progression.
At Statsroom, we believe progression is a continuous cycle, and objective performance data provides the evidence needed to understand, monitor and support that journey. By collecting data directly from competition environments, Statsroom helps athletes, parents, coaches and teams build a clearer understanding of performance and progression through accurate and consistent measurement.
Statsroom was founded by Ryan Coulthard, a performance analyst with experience working across a variety of high performance swimming environments ranging from national development programmes to international competition.
Ryan holds a Bachelor's degree in Sport Performance Analysis and is currently completing a Master's degree in Sport Performance Analysis at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Alongside his academic work, Ryan has supported elite level athletes through technical feedback and race analysis and has contributed to the provision of race analysis at national and international competitions.
As a former competitive swimmer himself, Ryan understands both the demands of competition and the value of objective performance data in supporting athlete development. Ryan established Statsroom with the ambition of making high-quality performance analysis more accessible beyond traditional performance pathways.
